San Francisco | Four Bakery & Coffee Shops I Visited Last Week ☕🥐
1. Four Barrel Coffee Hadn’t been back in months — and wow, the prices have jumped! 🫢 I ordered a simple hot coffee ($5!) since the espresso line was crazy long (only one machine working). The brew was delicious, but the cost felt steep. Their pastries are now fully supplied by sister bakery Loquat — pretty to look at, but taste-wise, just okay. Not particularly memorable beyond the looks. 2. Golden Goat Coffee Still love their coffee ☕️, but I’m on a mission to try every pastry from Compagnon (their vendor). Chausson: A bit dry, though flaky. Savory carrot purée filling was nice 🥕. Financier: Really liked this one! Sweet, crisp top, tender and moist inside, with a lovely nutty almond flavor. It’s hard to find good financiers in the city — this one’s a win! (Also a fan of their croissant and almond croissant 🥐✨) 3. Dead Eye Coffee Bar (South San Francisco) The only specialty coffee shop in downtown SSF! Coffee is solid, and they feature pastries from the popular Neighbor Bakehouse. A reliable stop for a good cup and tasty treat. 4. Piccino Coffee Bar No indoor seating, but plenty of outdoor public spots. I hadn’t visited in years — feels like their coffee has improved, and their pastries definitely have! They’ve trimmed down the selection, but the banana bread stood out — shaped like a muffin, with a crisp, sweet top (somewhere between a muffin top and a crumble). Usually banana bread is dense, but this was surprisingly light and moist. 🍌💛 #SanFrancisco #Bakeries #BakeryLife #CoffeeShopVibes #SFCafe #PastryTour #BayAreaCoffee
