San Francisco | La Mar – A Flavorful but Flashy Peruvian Experience 🦐

We finally tried the highly-talked-about Peruvian spot La Mar at Pier 1! Made a same-day reservation for Saturday evening — it wasn’t too hard to get a table, but booking ahead is still a good idea 😉. Here’s what we ordered — feel free to copy our picks 👇: 🍽 Mar Montana Scallops & duck — the scallops were fresh and tender, topped with zesty pickled onions. A bright and satisfying dish! 🍚 Arroz Norteno A shrimp fried rice loaded with grilled prawns and tiny shrimp throughout. While the shrimp were delicious, the dish was quite saucy and oily — a bit heavy for our taste. 🍤 Croquetas Chifa Crispy fried shrimp balls with a smooth shrimp mousse inside, served with dipping sauce. Tasty, but not particularly memorable. 🍹 Specialty Cocktails We tried the Wednesday special and another (forgot the name 😅) — both drinks were delicious and well-crafted! Overall thoughts: La Mar is lively, visually appealing, and definitely draws a crowd. The seafood is fresh, but many dishes leaned rich and creamy. Nothing was bad, but nothing truly wowed us either. That said — it’s still a fun spot for a festive meal with nice drinks and a great view. You’ll probably come to see what the hype is about… so enjoy the vibe and order those scallops! 💫 📍 La Mar | Pier 1, San Francisco 🌮 Good for: Group dinners, scenic meals, trying Peruvian flavors 📸 Vibe: Chic, bustling, Insta-worthy #LaMarSF #PeruvianFood #SFDining #Pier1Eats #SeafoodLovers #HypeWorthy #GoodVibesOnly #FoodReview #SFDateNight
