San Francisco | Swensen’s – A Sweet Discovery Near Russian Hill 🍦✨
After a comforting meal of clay pot rice, we drove through Russian Hill and stumbled upon Swensen’s — an old-school ice cream parlor with a line winding down the block! Naturally, we joined the queue, and oh, what a delicious decision that turned out to be.😍 Founded in 1948, Swensen’s is a true San Francisco original, and you can feel the history as soon as you step inside. The vintage neon sign, the cozy red booths, and the friendly staff scooping generous portions — it’s a nostalgic experience that never goes out of style. We ordered two flavors that completely won us over: 🍓 Raspberry – Bright, tangy, and packed with real berry flavor. 🌸 Lychee – An absolute revelation! So delicate, fragrant, and studded with real pieces of lychee fruit. It’s rare to find this flavor in the U.S., and even rarer to find it done this well. Every spoonful of the lychee ice cream felt like a little escape — subtly sweet, creamy, and bursting with tropical aroma. It was the star of the night, and we already plan to go back just for that. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Swensen’s is more than just an ice cream shop — it’s a San Francisco icon. Perfect for a post-dinner treat, a sunny afternoon stop, or whenever your sweet tooth calls. 📍 Swensen’s Ice Cream 1999 Hyde St, San Francisco, CA 94109 🕒 Hours: 12 PM – 10 PM (may vary) 💡 Tip: Evenings can get busy — come early or be ready to queue (it’s worth it!) #SwensensSF #SanFranciscoIceCream #LycheeIceCream #ClassicCreamery #RussianHillEats #OldSchoolSF #IceCreamLovers #MustTrySweets #BayAreaDesserts #HiddenGemsSF
