Treating myself to the most luxurious, loaded-up version of Vietnamese pho after work 🍜💸 Tried the always-packed Gao Viet Kitchen in San Mateo and ordered their famous Lobster Pho 🦞 — because honestly, how good can a $110 bowl of pho be? When it arrived, the portion was absolutely massive: A whole shelled lobster 🦞 A giant beef rib + bone marrow 🥩 Broth filled to the brim with meat We gave it our all, but two of us still couldn’t finish it. Also got a chicken leg noodle soup (tasty, but low-key tasted like my office cafeteria’s version 😂) Their cocktails are just as creative 🍸: Bold use of herbs and spices — one was inspired by pho broth (yes, drinking a pho-flavored cocktail!), and another came with shrimp paste and beef jerky. Heads-up: portions here are huge.
