San Francisco Food Journal | Sons & Daughters 🌟🌟
【Sons & Daughters】 has undergone a transformation with a change in chef and style, shifting from New American to Nordic cuisine. The chef previously worked at the two-Michelin-starred Gastrologik in Sweden and managed to reclaim two stars after just a year. To be honest, I hadn’t tried much Nordic food before, but I’ve heard it’s been topping the world’s best restaurant lists in recent years, so I decided to give it a try. 😋 The restaurant’s environment and atmosphere are quite nice, fairly quiet, making it suitable for dates and anniversary celebrations. The tasting menu is $295 per person, and caviar is an additional$115. 🌹 🔷In terms of flavor, there’s a heavy use of fermentation elements, resulting in a quite tangy taste. If you’re not a fan of sour flavors, you might want to steer clear of this place. Many dishes have a familiar sauerkraut-like taste, haha. After getting used to it, you’ll find it quite appetizing, but it seems like it’s a must to pair with wine. 🍷 🔷The main course was a bit underwhelming. The chicken, which was hyped for a while, was slightly disappointing – just very tender chicken. 🍗 🔷The desserts felt a bit repetitive in flavor, with the only memorable point being a rather unusual-tasting cookie added to the sweets. 🍬 Service-wise, it was quite attentive, with table service for each course. All prices include service fees, which is pretty fair. 🙌 Overall, it’s a restaurant with a distinct character, but it’s very much dependent on personal taste. 🤔 📍Sons & Daughters #BayAreaLife #BayAreaFood #BayAreaMichelin
