San Francisco Food Stop โ Drunken Monk
Recommended by friends during a get-together โ this izakaya serves some really solid yakitori. Definitely a spot Iโd come back to! ๐ฎโจ Mini Uni Don (Sea Urchin & Roe Rice Bowl) A must-try for uni and ikura lovers โ the uni was fresh and sweet ๐๐งก. They even give nori to make your own hand rolls! Only downside: way too much rice โ after all the yakitori, I couldnโt finish it alone. Scallop Carpaccio with Yuzu Loved the light, refreshing yuzu fragrance ๐. The scallops were sweet โ almost felt like eating dessert. Nigiri Sushi The fish quality wasnโt great โ the otoro even had a strong fishy taste ๐๐. A bit disappointing compared to the other dishesโฆ after six pieces, I kind of regretted it. Next time, sticking to yakitori. YAKITORI (Skewers) Tried several โ all were delicious!! My favorite was Kashira (pork cheek) ๐โค๏ธ. They serve it with sansho pepper โ sprinkle a little on, and itโs unexpectedly tasty. GYUDON (Beef Rice Bowl) Tasted similar to frozen Yoshinoya ๐ โ just more onions. Not the best value. Miso Soup Standard bowl โ nothing special. #BayAreaExploration #BayAreaFood #BayAreaJapanese #Izakaya #YakitoriLovers #SFfoodie ๐ข
