San Francisco Sons & Daughters⭐️⭐️ Real Experience
Conquered Michelin, but couldn't convince me. 🍵 I visited this somewhat famous two-Michelin-starred restaurant in San Francisco—Sons & Daughters. I saw so many recommendations, calling it "food with a soul." The chef is the renowned Teague Moriarty. But to be honest, my experience was a bit complicated... 🍽️ Dishes | Refined, Creative, Overall Sour Each dish is plated like a work of art, very thoughtful. A mix of molecular gastronomy and New Californian cuisine, emphasizing seasonality and garden-to-table cooking. It's truly art on a plate 📸. The additional truffle and caviar pairing was quite nice 🦐. The entire menu has a consistent sour note—pickled vegetables, fermented cream, and homemade vinegar used to enhance freshness and add layers. It's playful, but after a few dishes in a row, it can make you wince a bit. I wish the sequence could be changed for better balance 🤔. 💡 Highlight is the Duck Very much in line with Chef Moriarty's farm-to-table style, the duck is crispy and juicy, said to be specially supplied by a Michelin restaurant in Healdsburg. The final dish, a vinegar-strawberry icy treat, was also a delightful surprise. 🪑 Environment | A Bit Disappointing I have to mention this! Despite being a two-Michelin-starred restaurant, the environment really detracts from the experience. The seating is cramped, the space is small, and the bistro-style decor doesn't match the setting. The glass partition facing the street constantly has passers-by stopping by, which is quite distracting. The food presentation is professional, and the plates are handmade by the chef's mother, matching the dishes nicely—a nice touch. 💰 Per Capita + Summary | Not Recommended as a Special Visit 🧾 Per Capita : Around $650+/person (excluding wine pairing) ✨ Suitable for : Foodies who enjoy trying new and unique flavors, with a sense of curiosity. 🙅♀️ Not Suitable for : Friends who prefer traditional tastes and a better dining environment. 🔚 A creative family-style Michelin experience, but the environment doesn't match the price, and it might dissuade some. #SanFranciscoFood #MichelinExperience #SanFranciscoDining #BayAreaWeekend #BayAreaCuisine #FullOfExperience #UnlockingNewExperiences #SummerCoolingFlavors #MichelinRestaurantAdventures
