Jambo Cafe – A taste of Jamaica with African soul! 🏝️🔥 Right next door, don’t miss Jambo Imports, a shop full of African-style furniture and decor. Perfect for browsing while waiting for a table or after your meal. 🛋️🛍️ Jamaican cuisine often uses a spice blend called jerk—which is also a cooking method. Meat like chicken, fish, or shrimp is marinated in jerk seasoning and then smoked or grilled. Jerk seasoning is a bit like Chinese “thirteen-spice”—its main ingredients are allspice (which tastes like a mix of clove, pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg) and Bonney pepper from West Africa. Other spices include cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, scallions, ginger, garlic, sugar, salt, and thyme. Just reading the list tells you it’ll suit Chinese taste buds! 🌶️🧄❤️ 🔆 My Favorite: Oxtail Stew Three large pieces of bone-in oxtail, braised until tender and flavorful—spicy and aromatic, very similar to Chinese-style braised oxtail. Served with fried plantains and collard greens. 🐮🍌🥬 🔆 Pili Pili Shrimp Grilled shrimp simmered in a coconut-tomato-spice sauce, served with basmati rice and garlic sautéed spinach. The sauce is absolutely rice-worthy! 🍤🍚🔥 🔆 Lamb Stew with Chickpeas Braised with raisins, apricots, sweet potatoes, and more—so delicious! Served with couscous, which has a texture similar to millet. 🐑🍠✨ ⚠️ Coconut Shrimp (Starter) Just okay—nothing special. 🔆 Classic Jerk Chicken A must-try—perfectly spiced and grilled! 🍗🔥 #NewMexico #SantaFe #AfricanCuisine #JamaicanFood #FoodieFind #GlobalFlavors #ComfortFood #SpicyLovers #CulturalEats #TravelEats #SantaFeDining #EthnicFood #FlavorExplosion #EatTheWorld #FoodAdventure
