Santa Fe, NM Eats|Alkeme – A Must-Try Asian Fusion Restaurant 🍜✨
Located in the plaza, Alkeme is an innovative Asian fusion restaurant that opened in August 2023. Run by two talented Asian female chefs, it beautifully blends flavors from Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Korean, and Hawaiian cuisines. Though not traditional Chinese food, it’s hands down some of the most delicious Asian food you can find in Santa Fe! 👩🍳🌏 You can either opt for their tasting menu or order à la carte—both are fantastic! 🍚 Mushroom Congee + Fried Dough Stick (Youtiao): The congee has a rich, risotto-like texture, and the youtiao is extra crispy compared to the classic version. You can add crispy fried pork belly and a fish sauce-marinated soft-boiled egg. Pro tip: place the crunchy pork at the bottom, layer the congee on top, and take a bite—the explosion of flavors and textures is incredible! 🥢🔥 Also, mixing the soft egg into the congee adds another layer of richness. Highly recommend! 🥙 Taiwanese Gua Bao: Soft steamed buns filled with flavorful, tender meat and fresh garnishes. A classic with a delicate twist! 🍖 Braised Short Rib: Slow-cooked until extremely tender, served with glass noodles, radish, and shiitake mushrooms. Comforting and deeply satisfying. 🍫 Dessert – Miso Brownie: A unique brownie with a subtle hint of miso—sweet, salty, and utterly indulgent! 🍲 Appetizer – Mushroom Soup: Warm, earthy, and full of umami goodness. A perfect start to the meal. Every dish was impressive and full of flavor! The staff is mostly Asian, and though they seemed new and made a few mistakes, it didn’t affect our enjoyable dining experience at all. At the end, the bill was presented on a red envelope 🧧—a thoughtful and charming touch that we loved! ❤️ #NewMexico #SantaFe #AsianFusion #Foodie #AlkemeRestaurant #CreativeCuisine #WomenChefs #TaiwaneseFood #KoreanFood #HawaiianFood #VietnameseFood #SantaFeEats #TravelFood #MustTry #FoodLovers
