Santa Fe, NM Fun|Sky Railway Themed Train Ride 🚂✨
Santa Fe is home to a historic 140-year-old railway! After it closed in 2012, a group of entrepreneurs and artists—including Game of Thrones author George Martin (which explains the dragon-themed touches on some trains! 🐉📚)—purchased the tracks in 2019 and launched Sky Railway in 2020. Each themed ride lasts about 2–2.5 hours, with options like sightseeing, history tours, sunset rides, beer or cocktail tastings, jazz nights, stargazing, mystery-solving, and even cosplay events. Sounds like so much fun, right? 🎭🍻🌌 We tried the Stargazing Train—departing at 8:30 PM from the Railyard: 🌟 A live singer performed folk songs about the moon and stars—creating a cozy, laid-back vibe. 🌟 An onboard astronomer shared fun facts about the cosmos between songs. 🌟 Tickets included a snack pack, a glass of champagne, and hot chocolate. There’s also a small bar onboard for additional drinks and snacks. 🌟 Several open-air cars allowed us to step outside and stargaze anytime. Once the train left the city, the sky was filled with stars! ✨🌠 🌟 The train stopped in a dark zone, all lights were turned off, and the astronomer pointed out constellations while sharing scientific, mythical, and cultural stories. This part was incredibly romantic! 💫❤️ No camera could capture the magic—you have to experience it yourself. 🌟 The train returned along the same route, arriving back at the Railyard by 11 PM. 📌 Tip 1: Popular themed rides are limited—only 1-2 trips per month—so book early! 📌 Tip 2: Summer is ideal for stargazing. You might see the Milky Way, and it’s much warmer (April nights on a moving train were FREEZING 🥶—check the weather and dress warmly!). #NewMexico #SantaFe #SkyRailway #TrainAdventure #Stargazing #ThemedRides #UniqueExperiences #TravelNewMexico #NightSky #RomanticGetaway #FamilyFun #HistoricRailway #ExploreSantaFe #OutdoorAdventure #CosmicJourney
