Santi in Midtown New York 🌟
Another pretty but overpriced Italian restaurant in Midtown. 🌇 On Saturday, I visited an Italian fine dining place in Midtown that I’ve been looking forward to for a while. I wanted to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday there. The place seemed perfect—with its elegant ambiance, stylish bar, and those beautiful photos online. But because my expectations were so high, the disappointment felt even bigger. 😔 🦐 Gamberi Rossi | $42 Red shrimp is a must-order at every table, and I was excited to try it. The natural sweetness of the shrimp came through, and the combination with a bit of caviar and the savory mushrooms was tasty. But it just didn’t blow me away like I thought it would. It was more like “expectation = reality.” 🍤 🐟 Passera Tuna Crudo | $34 This was highly recommended by the waiter, but after we finished it, we all looked at each other and thought, “Is that it?” Just a smoky tuna flavor... very one-dimensional and forgettable. 🐟 🐖 Terrina | $45 I really need to warn you about this one: don’t order it! The texture of the meat jelly was fine, but it was so salty I almost couldn’t believe it. Not even the pickled peppers could save it. There was no depth of flavor from the foie gras or rabbit meat. 😖 #NewYork 🌟
