Sao Paulo 🇧🇷 Thai food | Really met the price assassin 🇹🇭

🏠 Thaitai Brasil Gastronomia Tailandesa 🗺️ Rua Haddock Lobo, 935 - Jardim Paulista, São Paulo - SP, 01414-001 Thaitai Brasil Gastronomia Tailandesa feels like an old friend—I’ve visited this place two or three times. But my most recent dinner experience? It completely changed my impression 😮! My previous visits were always during lunch breaks on weekdays. The weekday lunch sets were a steal, costing only around 70-80 reais per person, and they filled me up nicely. The restaurant’s decor is bursting with Thai charm—colorful decorations, Southeast Asian-inspired ornaments—it’s like teleporting straight to the streets of Bangkok 🌴. Paired with their warm, attentive service, even a simple work lunch felt like a treat. However, when I dined there with a friend last week for dinner, the bill left me speechless 😲! The average cost per person skyrocketed to over 200 reais. A seemingly ordinary plate of Thai grilled meat alone cost a whopping 115 reais. The moment I saw the menu prices, I was thinking “excuse me?”—I couldn’t believe my eyes. After carefully comparing the dishes to what I’d eaten at lunch, I realized nothing had changed. The ingredients and cooking methods were identical. This unjustified price hike was simply unacceptable 😤. We ordered several dishes from the picture: Tom Yum Goong soup, green curry chicken, pad thai, and other Thai classics. Along with my friend’s drink, the total bill came close to 400 reais 💸. To be fair, the food wasn’t terrible. The Tom Yum soup was tangy and appetizing, and the green curry chicken smelled amazing. But overall, it was just average—nothing mind-blowing. The overpowering spice flavors actually masked the natural freshness of the ingredients. It’s like when foreigners cook Chinese food and just drown it in soy sauce and scallions—it’s missing that special something 👩🍳. ⭐ Recommendation: If you’re coming for authentic Thai flavors, dinner here isn’t worth the cost. The high prices mainly go towards the ambiance. If you still want to check this place out, I highly recommend visiting during lunch. You can enjoy the lovely atmosphere and savor the dishes at a much more reasonable price—it’s a win-win! #ThaiCuisine #GlobalFoodSquad
