Sea urchin head is ecstatic 🥹 New York City, 5.0 rating

New York’s omakase scene is so competitive now—you could never eat at the same spot twice! I’ve shared quite a few before, and today I’m here with an honest review of this new Midtown sushi spot my friend and I tried last week 🍣~ ✨ Before going, I noticed it had a 5.0 rating on the map—and after visiting, yeah, it’s definitely good! The ambiance is top-tier among the places I’ve been to lately. The restaurant is spacious, bright, and clearly newly decorated, plus super clean—perfect for a date, I’d say. ✨ We went for the 12-course $90 menu, and here are the things I loved most: 💛 The 12 courses break down into 3 appetizers, 7 pieces of sushi, a small donburi, and a dessert. It feels like a really complete experience, unlike some places where a 12-course meal skips appetizers or dessert. 🧡 Three of the courses feature uni—total heaven for uni lovers‼️ The Hokkaido uni in the sushi was so sweet~ One of my absolute favorites was the first appetizer: scallop + uni + white truffle❗ The scallop was tender, the uni sweet, and the white truffle added such a nice touch—really delicious. 💛 The sushi was all great too. The toro was standout—no tough bits, perfectly marbled, and melted in my mouth. The yellowtail was seared and paired with shishito peppers, which was fragrant. There was also a fun twist with tempura shiso leaves in one course. Overall, the flavors lean innovative rather than traditional, but it’s all “the cherry on top” stuff—no weird, forced elements or gimmicks. ❤️‍🩹 The only downside for me was the dessert: a strawberry pudding 🍓. It was a bit too sweet for my taste—would’ve loved it if it were matcha instead! ✨ Sushiichi ✨ 640 10th Ave, New York, NY 10036 That’s it for today’s share! I’m one step closer to my goal of trying all affordable omakase spots before leaving New York. If you liked this, give it a like! Follow me for more NYC life and food content.
