SF Restaurant Review | Omakase SF: A One-Michelin-Star Experience
šRestaurant Name: Omakase SF Reservation Required: Yes Overall Experience: 9/10. The price is on the higher side, but itās definitely worth it. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and of high quality. šAppetizers: Mushi-awabi & Steamed Abalone: The abalone is very tender, and the soup is incredibly flavorful. Tosaki, Toro, Iburi-Takuwan: The combination is tender and aromatic, with a unique wasabi flavor that has a subtle floral note. šNigiri: All the nigiri are delicious! Some highlights include: Kuruma Ebi: Crispy and flavorful. šHotate: Refreshing taste, and the fried shrimp head is a great palate cleanser. Hokkaido Uni: Absolutely amazing! The sea urchin is directly shipped from Hokkaido, incredibly fresh and sweet. Itās unforgettableāI was savoring the taste on my way home. š Kuromutsu: Grilled to perfection, enhancing the fishās natural aroma. O-toro: Melts in your mouth, but I personally prefer chu-toro for its slightly less fatty texture. Kanburi: A winter-only yellowtail thatās incredibly tender. šDessert: Yuzu Panna Cotta: Tart and sweet, very refreshing and surprisingly delicious! Service: Overall, the service is good. The only downside is that the chefās introduction of the dishes could be more consistent. Sometimes he elaborates on certain courses, while other times he just mentions the name or says nothing at all. In contrast, the chef at the neighboring table is more engaging and provides detailed explanations for each course. I wonder if the inconsistent service quality and experience might have something to do with the recent loss of a Michelin star. š 665 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94103 #BayAreaFood #SanFranciscoFood #Omakase
