Shabu Tatsu | New York's Go-To Place for Sukiyaki (2)š²
You can choose between Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu for the broth. Sukiyaki is the sweet and salty sukiyaki broth with less soup, where you dip the meat in raw eggs. Shabu Shabu has a very light broth that you eat with sesame sauce. I prefer sukiyaki. Everyone should order at least one portion of meat. I've tried both Prime beef and regular beef. The Prime beef is five dollars more, but it's slightly fattier and more tender after cooking. Each person's set also includes vegetables/taro noodles/ramen and dessert ice cream. I really love their matcha ice cream. If you're still hungry, you can add on more meat or dishes, but for a normal appetite, the meat and vegetables are usually enough to fill you up. š Tongue Bubbles: The tongue comes raw and gets grilled on a stone pot until it's crispy. It doesn't seem to be marinated, so it doesn't have much flavor. š Eel Bubbles: I think this is better than the tongue. The kabayaki eel is very tender. After mixing it with the pot rice, it's super delicious. š Eel Omelette: Also good. It's tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) with eel inside. š Shabu Tatsu Average cost per person: $60-80 #NewYorkFood #NewYorkSukiyaki šš¢
