Shiraz 🇮🇷 | Firsthand Experience of the Direct Tehran-Shiraz Bus
Originally, I planned to travel from Tehran to Isfahan and explore Iran from north to south. However, tickets to Isfahan were in high demand and hard to secure. So, I decided to book a direct bus from Tehran to Shiraz and travel from south to north instead. (🔺Local tip: You can actually book a Tehran-Shiraz ticket and disembark in Isfahan—this makes tickets easier to obtain.) 📝 Schedule: There are multiple daily departures for the Tehran-Shiraz bus, and tickets are usually available 1–2 days in advance. I chose a 10:30 PM bus from Tehran’s South Terminal, covering 830 km in about 13 hours. The ticket cost 3.2 million toman (≈¥45), and the bus arrived at Shiraz’s terminal at 10 AM the next day. The seats were semi-reclining, allowing for decent sleep. You can check bus schedules on 🔸alibaba.ir🔸. To book, ask an Iranian for help—hostels or travel agencies usually charge a 10% fee. Alternatively, you can buy tickets directly at the station if you don’t mind the hassle. 🚌 Boarding: The departure point is Tehran’s South Terminal (Terminal-e Jonoub). You can take the metro to Payaneh Jonoub Station or use Snapp (Iran’s ride-hailing app) for around 500,000 toman from the city center. The terminal has indoor waiting areas and outdoor seating—arriving 30 minutes early is sufficient. 🚶🏻 Transport in Shiraz: The bus terminal is about 4 km from the Pink Mosque (Nasir al-Mulk), a 45-minute walk or a 13-minute drive. Snapp rides can take a while to book, but after surcharging, the fare should be around 400,000–500,000 toman. #Shiraz #IranTravel #Tehran
