But just a short distance away, we stumbled upon two completely different hidden paradises! ☑️ Emerald Hill 🌈 This place is filled with Peranakan shophouses that have a history of over a century. The architecture is a perfect blend of colonial and traditional Chinese styles, with colorful streets that are perfect for amazing photos. Hidden among the buildings are many small bars and boutique cafes. The street is short and perfect for a leisurely, slow-paced stroll. 🍃☕ ☑️ Dempsey Hill 🌿 Known as Singapore’s backyard, this place feels like a tropical rainforest and is incredibly relaxing to walk through. Originally a British colonial barracks, it has been transformed into a high-end, artsy area with dining, shopping, and art galleries.
