I recently discovered the charm of the American South — Charleston is a relatively underrated destination where you can experience authentic vintage American town vibes. 🏘️ This historic city in South Carolina has been named the "No. 1 City in the U.S." by Travel + Leisure for multiple years. Not exaggerating — every corner feels like a movie scene! 🎬 We started from Atlanta and spent 3 days and 2 nights there, which was enough to cover the main attractions. ➡️ Recommended Spots 📍 Rainbow Row A super Instagrammable street! Pastel-colored walls + shutters + Southern-style balconies = ultimate fairy-tale charm. 💖 Best visited in the morning for fewer crowds and soft light. Outfit tip: wear a French-style vintage dress for great photos! 👗 📍 Historic Downtown Cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages, colonial architecture — every step feels like traveling back to the 19th century. 🐎 Highly recommend renting a bike to explore slowly. 📍 Magnolia Plantation An old Southern plantation with rich history and a unique glimpse into the past. 🌸 In spring, cherry blossoms and azaleas bloom everywhere — stunning! Tickets are around $20-30 — book online in advance. 📍 Sullivan’s Island & Folly Beach Perfect for sunbathing and sunset watching! Just a 30-minute drive from downtown. The beaches are clean and peaceful — ideal for a relaxing evening. 🌅 🍽️ Food Recommendations 📍 Poogan’s Porch A beautifully converted historic house serving classic Southern dishes. We ordered: Fried Chicken & Biscuits with honey butter Shrimp & Grits Everything was delicious! 🍗 Recommended: ask for a table on the porch! 📍 167 Raw Oyster Bar A seafood spot known for fresh oysters and lobster rolls. 🦞🦪 Highly recommend the lobster roll!
