Southern Portugal đ”đč Eats That Put the UK to Shame â0 Carvoeiro Edit
[Main Meals] đ· Taste Restaurante Carvoeiro â A relatively new restaurant that even does Sunday roast (a sign of British influence in southern Portugal)âbut a delicious one! âȘïž Iberian pork chop with orange sauce and orange segmentsâfusion but not bad, though the chop was a bit dry. âȘïž Grilled prawnsâtasty, similar to Chinese braised shrimp. âȘïž Braised pork ribsâfall-off-the-bone tender and flavorful, with sides so good we cleaned the plate. đ Restaurante Casa Algarvia â A popular spot with an open kitchen where you can see the wok-firing action. Fresh seafood is displayed at the entrance, and servers walk around presenting the catch of the day. âȘïž Piri piri grilled chickenâway better than Nandoâs! Super tender (though, full disclosure, it came without sauceâI missed Nandoâs peri-peri). âȘïž Pork with figsâordered out of curiosity, just okay. âȘïž Grilled prawnsâdelicious, but the bread was burnt to a crisp (home-cooking fail, yet they served it anyway). âȘïž Dessert came with a â€ïž decorationâprobably leftover from Valentineâs Day. Cute! [Breakfast] âïž Padaria FĂĄbrica Velha â Highly recommended! A true local haunt packed with Portuguese seniors. The bakery selection is overwhelmingly diverse, with adorable mini versions of everything. Missed the crispy pastel de nata here! â ïž Closed Sundays. âïž Pastelaria LĂ© Doce | Ledoce Coffee 𫳠Our backup when the above was closed. Fewer bakery options but equally local and super cheap (âŹ1.6 for coffee!). â ïž Cash only. đ° Price range: Breakfast ~âŹ5 per person Dinner ~âŹ20-30 per person đŠ Random beachside gelato spot (didnât catch the name) near CarvoeiroââŹ2.5 per scoop! Even in meh weather, we couldnât resist. #FoodHasNoBorders #PortugueseCuisine #FaroTravel #PortugalTravel #AuthenticTravelEats #SouthernPortugalFood #FoodieMap
