Southern Portugal đŸ‡”đŸ‡č Eats That Put the UK to Shame —0 Carvoeiro Edit

[Main Meals] đŸ· Taste Restaurante Carvoeiro ✅ A relatively new restaurant that even does Sunday roast (a sign of British influence in southern Portugal)—but a delicious one! â–Ș Iberian pork chop with orange sauce and orange segments—fusion but not bad, though the chop was a bit dry. â–Ș Grilled prawns—tasty, similar to Chinese braised shrimp. â–Ș Braised pork ribs—fall-off-the-bone tender and flavorful, with sides so good we cleaned the plate. 🐟 Restaurante Casa Algarvia ✅ A popular spot with an open kitchen where you can see the wok-firing action. Fresh seafood is displayed at the entrance, and servers walk around presenting the catch of the day. â–Ș Piri piri grilled chicken—way better than Nando’s! Super tender (though, full disclosure, it came without sauce—I missed Nando’s peri-peri). â–Ș Pork with figs—ordered out of curiosity, just okay. â–Ș Grilled prawns—delicious, but the bread was burnt to a crisp (home-cooking fail, yet they served it anyway). â–Ș Dessert came with a ❀ decoration—probably leftover from Valentine’s Day. Cute! [Breakfast] ☕ Padaria FĂĄbrica Velha ✅ Highly recommended! A true local haunt packed with Portuguese seniors. The bakery selection is overwhelmingly diverse, with adorable mini versions of everything. Missed the crispy pastel de nata here! ⚠ Closed Sundays. ☕ Pastelaria LĂ© Doce | Ledoce Coffee đŸ«ł Our backup when the above was closed. Fewer bakery options but equally local and super cheap (€1.6 for coffee!). ⚠ Cash only. 💰 Price range: Breakfast ~€5 per person Dinner ~€20-30 per person 🍩 Random beachside gelato spot (didn’t catch the name) near Carvoeiro—€2.5 per scoop! Even in meh weather, we couldn’t resist. #FoodHasNoBorders #PortugueseCuisine #FaroTravel #PortugalTravel #AuthenticTravelEats #SouthernPortugalFood #FoodieMap
