Spotting Sheep & Highland Cows Under the Forth Bridge 🫧🐑🐂
If you only have a few days in Edinburgh, and if you're blessed with a sunny day, this is my top recommended destination for an unforgettable escape! 📍 Queensferry Hop on a train from Waverley Station, and in just 15 minutes, you'll arrive at Dalmeny Station. From there, follow the crowd (or Google Maps 🗺️) through a short park walk—soon, you'll be standing beneath the magnificent Forth Bridge! 🔹 The Walking Trail Start your adventure right under the Forth Bridge! The full loop takes you along the coastline, past rolling farmlands, and back to the charming Queensferry town. Along the way, you'll get stunning views of the bridge from different angles and even catch a glimpse of the picturesque Barnbougle Castle! 🐑 Farmland Encounters As you walk, you’ll spot adorable sheep grazing peacefully and—the highlight—Highland cows roaming freely (no fences!). I kept a respectful distance, but these iconic "fringe cows" seemed totally chill with visitors. 😌🐮 ⏳ Short on Time? No problem! Just stroll along the shoreline under the bridge or relax in Queensferry town (don’t miss the classic MV photo spot made famous by Jay Chou! 🎵📸). 🔹 Exploring Queensferry This quaint seaside town is small but full of charm—you can explore it all in just 20 minutes! ☀️ Seaside Relaxation Grab an ice cream, find a sunny bench by the water, and enjoy the calming sea views. There are also boat tours if you fancy a quick sail! 🥐 Must-Visit Bakery Foodies, rejoice! Dune Bakery (open Thu-Mon) is a local hotspot, serving artisanal bread and pastries similar to the famous Lannan Bakery. 🍟 Seafood with a View Queensferry has lovely seafood restaurants where you can dig into classic fish & chips while watching the waves. Perfect combo! 🐟🌊 🫧 Wait for a Naturally Sunny Day & Let’s Go to the Seaside! #Edinburgh #HighlandCows #HikingEdinburgh #EdinburghDayTrips #Queensferry #ForthBridge #ForthBridgeViews #SeasideVibes
