π Spring is here! Let's make some flower mirrors together(1)
π Go Tufting NYC 47-61 Pearson Pl, Long Island City πI've always been tempted by the super popular tufting I saw online, and I was thrilled to find out there's a tufting studio in New York! π§Ά It's even super close to my home, so I quickly booked a weekend visit. π On a Sunday afternoon, the studio wasn't too crowded, so the teacher was able to guide me step-by-step the whole time. The mirror design I chose was from the internetβit felt so spring-like! π The studio has a yarn wall with so many colors that I was almost overwhelmed. The teacher helped me pick a beautiful purple. π π The entire process of making the tufting mirror took about 3-4 hours, and it was quite tiring. π₯ At first, I thought it would be as simple as just punching out a pattern, but it turned out to be quite technical. In the end, the teacher had to help with some finishing details (I have to say, the work of a professional is just smooth and perfect!). π Here are the stepsππΌ: π1β£οΈ Draw your design on the fabric, making sure to leave space for the mirror. 2β£οΈ Before starting to tuft, the teacher will show you how to use the tufting gun and remind you of some important safety tips (the tufting gun can be dangerousβit can easily catch your hair). Then you get to practice on a blank area first. #NewYork ππ
