Regarding Accommodation/Sightseeing 🔸 Accommodation Accommodation within Galle Old Town is super expensive, but most are in historic buildings. For those willing to splurge on lodging, you can blindly choose options inside the old town.🍅 🏡🏡Accommodation outside the old town is also relatively pricey, but there are many walk-in choices. It’s recommended to check via Google Maps. I stayed at 4ty two homestay The online quote is 5,500 LKR for an air-conditioned room and 4,500 LKR for a non-air-conditioned room. It’s available on Agoda, but it’s better to find their contact via Google Maps and book directly—you can negotiate the price.🍊 ✨✨It has almost all advantages: 1.2 km from the old town on foot, the host family is extremely kind, free filtered mineral water is provided, and the rooms are very clean. The only downside is no shared kitchen. If you must cook, the host will allow it, but you’ll share their kitchen, which feels a bit uncomfortable.💓 The online photos make it look shabby, but it’s actually great. Both software (service) and hardware (facilities) are being upgraded. If the price is acceptable, you’ll definitely love staying here—it’s my favorite accommodation in Sri Lanka.😘 🔸 Sightseeing & Shopping These are more like places to wander rather than formal attractions. 【Inside the Old Town】 👀1. Galle Dutch Fort Free. Enter from the fort entrance, go up to the city wall, and you can walk along the coast all the way to the lighthouse—it’s very pleasant. 2. Galle Lighthouse Free. Great for watching the sunset. 3. Galle Fort Beach The beach below the lighthouse has white sand in the shallows, perfect for wading or beginner swimmers. It’s popular with locals. 4. Barefoot Store Really good for shopping. Many items aren’t cheap, but they’re worth the price.🍊 【Outside the Old Town】 1. Hikkaduwa Beach & Turtle Beach Hikkaduwa Beach is beautiful and has a slow pace.🍎 Turtle Beach really lets you see turtles! 🤩 I arrived at 4:30 PM and stayed until 5:30 PM, spotting 5-6 turtles (big and small) foraging in the shallows—super cute. Seaweed is sold for 500 LKR a bag, and you can bargain.👣 🥬I hesitated at first whether to buy it, but later realized it’s unnecessary. Reason 1: There are many tourists feeding them, so the turtles can’t finish all the food. 🥞🍩 Reason 2: Lots of uneaten seaweed floats in the water from other visitors—you can just scoop up a small bag easily. 😅 I saw locals also scooping and reselling it. For kids wanting a better experience, rent or bring snorkeling gear to swim with the turtles—it’s fun.😊😊 ⚠️ Do not touch the turtles. 2. Unawatuna Beach & The Palm Rope Swing These two are in the opposite direction from Hikkaduwa, so you can visit them together. Unawatuna Beach is beautiful. The Palm Rope Swing is a popular spot—500 LKR for unlimited rides. 🎁🎁Unlike other swings, it’s especially long and worth trying. There’s also a stilt fisherman photo spot nearby, which you can check out together.💗💗 #DailyTravel#SriLanka#Galle
