Sri Lanka Elephant Orphanage
🐘Sri Lanka Elephant Orphanage Every day at noon, the elephants come to bathe in this river—it's spectacular!! There are only two elephant orphanages left in the world, one in Kenya, Africa, and the other in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. The primary purpose of establishing this place was to rescue sick elephants, so the elephants here do not perform any tricks. We try to respect their natural habits as much as possible. There is a place where you can buy fruit plates to feed them. ✨ Moreover, once the elephants here are able to form families and have the ability to survive, they will be released back into the forest to live freely. Many of the Sri Lankan elephants here do not have tusks because, over the years, so many elephants have been brutally killed for their ivory. 🌈This has led to the species evolving to gradually no longer grow tusks as a form of self-preservation. However, it is also a tragedy for humanity. Will future generations no longer see wild elephants with tusks? #Sri lanka#Elephant Orphanage#Rambukkana#Sri lanka trip#trip diary#travel guide#Sri lanka life#Elephant
