Sri lanka travel--Yala National Park and Tissa Lake
Yala National Park consists of five zones, two of which are open to the public. One is called Ruhuna National Park, also known as West Yala, which is the main area for observing Sri Lankan leopards and elephants; the other is called Kumana National Park, also known as East Yala, which is the primary area for birdwatching. ๐ Jeep Safari: There's no need to worry about booking a jeep for the safari. As soon as we arrived at Tissamaharama Bus Station, people approached us to make a sale. The usual price for a half-day jeep safari is around 15,000 rupees, including pick-up and drop-off services. As long as you're not staying too far away, they will come to your hotel to pick you up before departure. Each jeep can accommodate about six people, and the full-day option isn't much more expensive. The chances of seeing a Sri Lankan leopard are higher for a full-day safari. We shared a jeep with a handsome Chinese man who had booked his jeep through Taobao for 400 yuan for a half-day. ๐ซ Tickets: Approximately $35 for adults and $25 for children. ๐ Experience: It feels like being in a real-life version of the Animal Kingdom, with wild animals around you. Exploring the wonders and beauty of nature is a fantastic and unforgettable journey. We were very fortunate that it rained heavily the night before our visit to Yala, and the rain stopped early in the morning, making the air particularly fresh. Additionally, there was no dust on the way in the jeep. โ ๏ธ Precautions: Try to remain quiet to avoid disturbing wildlife; do not feed human food; do not litter. ๐ Accommodation: It is recommended to stay near Tissa Lake, where there are many cost-effective lakeview rooms with beautiful surroundings and convenient transportation. We chose a treehouse close to Tissa Lake, which was truly beautiful in the sunlight, but at night, there were so many bugs that even the mosquito nets couldn't keep them out. ๐Tissa Lake Tissa Lake, located about 2 km from the center of Tissamaharama town, is an artificial lake where many locals come to enjoy the cool breeze by the water. There are two large Bodhi trees in the lake #Hambantota#Yala National Park#Tissa Lake#Sri lanka #trip diary#travel diary#Sri lanka trip
