St. Louis | Akar
That evening in St. Louis, the breeze was just right ๐ฟ. We found this restaurant on a street corner โ dark green vines climbing over the railings, warm yellow lanterns gently swaying under the eaves, as if we'd instantly been transported to Southeast Asia. "Shall we sit outside?" a friend suggested. Indeed, sitting in the courtyard on a midsummer evening was so pleasant! The breeze brushed our cheeks, soft jazz music played in the background ๐ต, and the place was filled with guests enjoying the night, faces of different shades all wearing similar smiles. ๐ The restaurant's location is perfect โ at the corner of a lovely street, facing a metal sculpture by a local artist . Its abstract shape glowed softly in the sunset, unexpectedly harmonious with the restaurant's Southeast Asian vibe. The owner, a friendly middle-aged man, saw us selecting wine and came over to recommend: "How about trying this newly arrived white wine? It pairs perfectly with today's dishes." We ordered three glasses, and he even remembered the story behind each one ๐ท. "This is my newly developed lemongrass grilled chicken," he said, pointing to the menu. "Uses a secret recipe from my hometown." We promptly ordered it. When the grilled chicken arrived, the fresh scent of lemongrass wafted over โ the skin was golden and crispy, the meat tender and juicy โ truly stunning! Our glasses clinked lightly, making a clear, ringing sound. An elderly couple at the next table raised their glasses to us. In that moment, people from different cultural backgrounds connected wonderfully over food โค๏ธ. This must be the meaning of travel โ finding surprises at unexpected corners, remembering a city through its flavors. This night in St. Louis will remain a sparkling fragment of memory in my mind ๐. #TravelDiary #StLouisFood #SoutheastAsianRestaurant #BeautifulNight #CrossCulturalExperience #OutdoorDining #FoodDiscovery
