St. Louis | Discovered a Super Delicious Peruvian Restaurant
Just tried this Peruvian-style restaurant on the Loop! Name: Brasas Address: 6138 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112 Starter: Papa Rellena (Stuffed Potato Ball) - $13 A giant fried potato and cassava croquette filled with beef, raisins, olives, and egg. Served with three sauces: Peruvian green spicy sauce (with a celery-like taste), tomato spicy sauce, and garlic aioli. A bit pricey (only one piece), but super delicious! 😋 Main Courses: 1️⃣ 1/4 Roasted Chicken (Pollo a la Brasa) + 2 sides + sauce - $18 You can choose between chicken breast or thigh—I went for the thigh. The meat was tender and flavorful, though the portion was a bit small. For sides, I picked the Peruvian Bean Stew, which was a tad salty but unique and something I’d never tried before. 2️⃣ Airport Fried Rice (Chaufa Aeropuerto) - $30 A Peruvian-style fried rice with beef tenderloin, chicken, and pork belly. Topped with an omelet blanket drizzled with a Japanese-style sauce (similar to teriyaki, slightly sweet). The rice was loaded with ingredients, including a huge shrimp—absolutely delicious! 🍤 Verdict: This cozy little spot has a warm vibe and great service, with both bar seating and regular tables. The menu isn’t huge, but everything we ordered was tasty—no disappointments! Highly recommend! 👍 #StLouis #StLouisFoodie #InternationalStudent #Foodie #FoodAdventures
