St. Louis Brunch | The Original Pancake House

The Original Pancake House is so delicious! 😋 We went on a weekday, so there was no wait at all. As soon as we walked in, the staff greeted us super warmly—my mood instantly brightened up! ✨ We ordered the signature Dutch Treat (Dutch pancake) and Sausage Lover Breakfast, and both blew me away! 🥞 The Dutch pancake smelled absolutely amazing the second it was served, still steaming hot. When I poked it with a fork, it was soft and fluffy—total comfort food vibes! It was stuffed with sweet strawberries 🍓 and banana slices 🍌; every bite was a mix of fruity sweetness and wheat aroma, which was so satisfying. There was also a light dusting of powdered sugar on the side, just sweet enough without being cloying. The portion was huge, too—even splitting it between two of us, we almost couldn’t finish it. I couldn’t help sneaking one last bite when we packed the leftovers! 😝 The Sausage Lover Breakfast was just as fantastic! Two big sausages were fried to a golden crisp 🌭—the moment I bit into one, the juicy meaty goodness burst in my mouth. It was savory with a hint of black pepper, and there was no weird “processed meat” aftertaste at all. The accompanying fried egg had a runny yolk 🍳; mixing that yolk with the crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside potato chunks was pure bliss—so flavorful I wanted to jump for joy! The portion was equally generous; I was so full after eating that I had to hold my stomach to walk out. We also got a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice 🍊. The glass was still beaded with condensation when it arrived, and the bright orange juice looked clear and fresh. One sip was full of fresh orange fragrance—no cloying sweetness from additives at all. It cut through the richness of the food and whetted my appetite perfectly; it was the ideal match for the pancake!
