St. Louis Food Hunt | The Pasta I Miss Most After Leaving STL š
Katie's Pizza & Pasta ā Rock Hill š 9568 Manchester Rd, St. Louis, MO 63119 If someone asked me āwhich St. Louis restaurant would you rush back for?ā, this one would definitely be in the top 2! Iāve had so many amazing dishes here that just thinking about them makes my mouth water š„¹. Let me break down the highlights: P1: Black Spaghetti š¤©š¤©š¤© My ALL-TIME FAVORITEāno competition! Squid-ink pasta loaded with seafood: plump shrimp, tender scallops, and juicy clams. The sauce has a slight kick of spice, and honestly? Itās so delicious I could cry š. I beg you to order thisāyou wonāt regret it! The shrimp are as big as my thumb, scallops melt on the tongue, and clams are totally sand-free. The squid-ink pasta clings to every drop of the slightly spicy sauceāso packed with toppings, I didnāt even care about the squid ink smudged on my lips š¦š¤¤. P2: Figs & Whipped Ricotta š§ Insanely good! Sweet, ripe figs paired with creamy, cloud-like whipped ricotta, drizzled with honey. Eat it on the crispy pizza crust it comes with šÆāthe texture is rich and layered, totally mind-blowing š. Every bite is a mix of āsweet fig juice + milky cheese + crunchy crustāāeven my friend who hates sweet food stole a few bites! P3: Chanterell Mushroom Burrata šāš« Still so good! If you love mushrooms, this is a must-order. SautĆ©ed chanterelles are earthy and buttery, wrapped in soft, oozing Burrata. The mushroomās woody flavor blends perfectly with the cheeseās creaminessāheaven for fungi fans! : Potato Pizza & Egg š„š„ It looks unusual, but itās surprisingly delicious! Thinly sliced potatoes (crispy around the edges), salty ham, and fresh rosemary. The runny yolk in the middle coats the crust when you poke itāwho knew potato + egg on pizza could be this good? Other Dishes Tiramisu š: Solid, but not as good as the dishes above. Creamy but light on coffee flavorāfine for a post-meal sweet, nothing speci Sausage & Red Wine Vinegar Pizza š: I canāt remember the exact name, but itās a fun twist! Spicy Italian sausage balanced with tangy red wine vinegarācurious foodies should give it a try. : Fried Cheese/Risotto Balls š§: I forget if it was fried cheese or meatballs, but the portion was huge and the taste was okay. Not sure if itās still on the menu, though! Katie's and I have a little āfateā thing going on: I realized recently that my first meal in STL (years ago) and my last meal here (this year) were both at this spot š„¹. Last but not least: Black Spaghetti is NON-NEGOTIABLE š. Book a table in advanceāweekends get crazy busy, and walk-ins might not get a seat. Katie's has multiple locations in STL (thereās one downtown too), so double-check the address when booking! ā ļø #StLouis #StLouisLife #WashingtonUniversityinStLouis #StLouisFood #StLouisEats #WashU #WashUStudyAbroad #FoodieHunt
