St. Paul's Chapel (Security Check Required) 🌿 St. Paul's Chapel is an Episcopal church located at 209 Broadway in Lower Manhattan, New York City. 🗽🌸It is the oldest surviving church building in Manhattan. The chapel was completed in 1766 and was the tallest building in New York at that time. In 1960, St. Paul's Chapel was designated a National Historic Landmark. 🕍 🗽🌸Trinity Church (Security Check Required) 🕍 Trinity Church is an historic parish church of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, located at 79 Broadway in Lower Manhattan, at the intersection of Broadway and Wall Street. 🗽🌸In 1696, the Church of England purchased the land to build a new church. The original wooden-framed church was collapsed by heavy snow. The current church was consecrated on May 1, 1846, the Feast of the Ascension. It was the tallest building in Lower Manhattan at that time. The soaring neo-Gothic spire, topped with a gilded cross, served as a welcoming beacon for ships entering New York Harbor. 🗽🌸 It is considered a classic example of Gothic Revival architecture and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. On September 11, 2001, the collapse of the World Trade Center toppled a century-old fig tree growing in the churchyard. 🌳 #NewYork 🌟
