Stepping into the Garden of Yves Saint Laurent 🌸
On the fourth day in Paris, I wandered around the area near the Champs-Élysées. I had an appointment at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum at noon, and the exhibition centered around Yves Saint Laurent's love for flowers. It was an incredibly surprising and delightful experience! 🌺 The "The Flowers of Yves Saint Laurent" exhibition is divided into six sections, starting from the 1950s masquerade balls and ending with a tribute to fashion illustrators. It takes you through Yves Saint Laurent's garden, showcasing these ever-blooming flowers through embroidery, patchwork, and prints. Yves Saint Laurent's favorite flower was the orchid, simply because its French name is lys. 🌿 There's an interesting story behind the rose dress worn by Laetitia Casta to close the Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 1999 Haute Couture show. When Yves Saint Laurent asked Laetitia Casta what she wanted to wear, she replied: "Flowers!" And so, this iconic piece was born. 🌹 The third floor features Yves Saint Laurent's atelier, which is my absolute favorite part. In one corner of the studio, two embroidered organza haute couture jackets and a silk printed chiffon haute couture dress are displayed. The messy yet organized workspace lets you imagine him, as the youngest couturier at the time, creating a piece of haute couture. 🪡 "The Flowers of Yves Saint Laurent" exhibition runs until May 4, 2025. 📆 #Paris #ParisExhibitions #yvessaintlaurent #ysl #yslhautecouture #hautecouture #YSLMuseum #fashion #museum #style
