Steptoe Wheat Field Trip|Around Seattle
Over the long weekend, I joined the crowd to see the wheat fields, and it was truly worth it—the endless green felt like a cure for my nearsightedness! The route was similar to what others recommended. You can leisurely explore in one day, stay overnight, and enjoy nearby attractions the next day. Departed from Bellevue at 10 AM 1️⃣ First Stop: Wild Horse Wind Farm Visitor Center A wind turbine power station. You can drive through and get very close to the turbines. Lunch Break 2️⃣ Second Stop: Palouse Falls State Park Staff at the entrance check for a Discover Pass. The last 2 miles to the park are bumpy and dusty (no potholes but very uneven). On the way to Steptoe Butte State Park, you’ll see vast wheat fields. Find a safe spot to park and take close-up photos. Be cautious of ticks in the fields when entering or exiting. Dinner Break 3️⃣ Third Stop: Steptoe Butte State Park Arrived at the hilltop around 7 PM after dinner—the soft lighting was perfect for photos. We stayed to watch the sunset (around 8 PM). The road to the top is narrow and lacks guardrails, so drive carefully. Stayed overnight in Pullman The wheat fields were absolutely stunning and worth the trip! 🍀🍀 #WheatFields #NaturalScenery #Nature #SeattleLife #SeattleSurroundings #SeattleWeekend #SeattlePhotography #SeattleOutdoors
