Sumida Hokusai Museum | Two Weeks in Japan in October | D13c

October 22, 2024, Day 13, Part 3 πŸŒΈπŸƒ After filming Godzilla, I headed back to Akihabara, transferred to Ryogoku Station πŸš‰, and walked along the railway line towards the Sumida (District) Hokusai Museum. πŸŒ‡πŸŒΏWhen I crossed the overpass on the way, I saw the uniquely shaped Edo-Tokyo Museum again. It left a deep impression on me the last time I visited. However, the museum has been undergoing extensive renovations since 2022, and according to the official website, the project is expected to last until at least mid-2025. πŸŒΈπŸƒ The Hokusai Museum, designed by the renowned female architect Kazuyo Sejima, is dedicated to commemorating and promoting the works of the famous 18th- to 19th-century ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai. I didn't pay special attention to Sejima's works this time πŸŒ‡πŸŒΏ. I chose to visit here simply because it's really visually appealing and interesting. Much like many of Tadao Ando's works, it gives me the feeling of appreciating a sculptural art piece. #Tokyo
