Summer in the Bay Area ｜ A Day Trip to Sonoma’s Wild Coast

📅 Sunday, May 29, 2022 Feeling the Bay Area heat? We escaped north to Sonoma—only to find we needed light down jackets and beanies even in almost-June! ❄️🧤 The drive along Highway 1 between mountain and sea was rugged and dramatic. Strong winds, crashing waves, and steep cliffs give Sonoma’s coast a powerful beauty unlike anywhere else on the Pacific. 🌊⛰️💨 On the way up, we passed endless farms under bright blue skies—green pastures, yellow wildflowers, grazing cows 🐄, and horses running free… Total “Little Switzerland” vibes! 🏞️ (Heads up: the grass on hills is all golden now. Spring would be even prettier!) 📍 Navigation: Goat Rock State Beach - Sonoma Coast State Park Be ready for WIND 😵💨—we struggled just to open the car door!
