Sunset at Place de la Concorde in Paris 🌅

Finally, I found myself in front of Place de la Concorde, a place I've heard so much about! It's so close to the Louvre—just one metro stop away, and you can walk right over. As you exit the Concorde metro station, you immediately see the iconic lion statue 🦁️. I've hurried past Place de la Concorde several times, always in the evening, and this time I was lucky enough to catch the moment when the Eiffel Tower lit up in the distance. I couldn't resist snapping a few photos! The weather was perfect, with a beautiful pink sky painted by the sunset—absolutely stunning! With my schedule tight, I didn’t even have time to closely admire the fountains, sculptures, and the obelisk. Located in the heart of Paris on the northern bank of the Seine, Place de la Concorde is one of France's most famous squares. It was commissioned by King Louis XV in the 18th century to showcase his supreme royal power and was originally named “Place Louis XV.” During the Revolution, it was renamed “Place de la Révolution” and became a stage for the destruction of royal authority. In 1795, it was renamed again to "Place de la Concorde," and it was renovated in 1840 to take on its current grandeur. The square is octagonal, with the Egyptian obelisk standing tall in the center, a gift from the Egyptian governor to Charles X. This obelisk is carved from a single piece of pink granite, covered in hieroglyphs that celebrate the achievements of Egyptian pharaohs. Surrounding the square are eight statues symbolizing the eight major cities of France. Today, Place de la Concorde remains an important part of central Paris. Major events like the National Day parade and New Year's countdown celebrations take place here every year. The square is flanked by French government buildings, historical museums, and luxury hotels, attracting visitors from all over the world. 🏛️✨ #BeautifulViewsOnTheJourney #PlaceDeLaConcorde #France #FrenchLife #TravelInFrance #Paris #ParisAttractions #PlaceDeLaConcorde
