Super Delicious Taiwanese Tavern šŸ”

When it comes to Taiwanese taverns in New York, you have to mention 886 and WenWen! I first discovered them by chance on Instagram, and they seemed so trendy and cool, with authentic-looking dishes. 🌿🌟 A few weeks ago, when Wei Ruoxuan came to New York for an event in Central Park, both of these places participated! Last Friday, my friends and I debated for a long time about which one to go to and finally decided on the closer 886 (it's on St Marks Place. WenWen is in Greenpoint, which is a bit far). 🌿🌟 The interior was filled with flickering neon lights and pink hues, bustling with people. The stainless steel tables and plastic stools made it feel like we had stepped into a Taiwanese night market. We ordered three cups of chicken, moon shrimp cakes, and Soju Colada! šŸ¤ The fried shrimp cakes were incredibly delicious, with firm shrimp meat that was perfectly crispy and fragrant, enhanced even more with cilantro. 🄘 The three-cup chicken was very tender. Compared to traditional three-cup chicken, it wasn't as greasy. It was served on a small stove to be heated for five minutes before eating, which was quite unique since it wasn't in a traditional clay pot. The portions of each dish were relatively small, making it perfect for a group meal with friends, so you can order a variety of dishes! The name 886 comes from the area code for Taiwan. 🌿🌟 886 26 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10003 #NewYorkLife #NewYorkCuisine 🌃🌟
