Sushi Akira | To Be Continued
Let’s not talk about the taste or service this time. Instead, I’m focusing on the hygiene issues, because they’re just too serious to ignore. 🚪 As soon as we walked in, we noticed the door was broken and wouldn’t close properly. The staff said it had been robbed a few days ago. 😖 🪰 From the appetizers to the desserts, we were constantly swatting away fruit flies. Both us and the guests on our left had fruit flies falling into our wine glasses, forcing us to ask for replacements. 🍷 🐟 The ingredients (except when they were being photographed for us) were just covered with a damp cloth the whole time, and the sides were completely open. Given the number of fruit flies that night, it was really hard to feel safe. 😵 💩 What’s even more outrageous is that my friend started having diarrhea at 3 a.m., and I couldn’t escape it either. When I contacted the restaurant today, they replied, “If you go to the hospital, don’t forget to contact our insurance, haha. 😅” Hanako, who has an iron stomach, wasn’t defeated by Fumakase, but ended up suffering because of Hongmakase. 😭 To Be Continued: Other friends from the same meal also felt unwell afterward. We reported the issue to the restaurant, and they offered a full refund and assured me that the door has been fixed now. So, everyone, be careful when dining out. Health is the most important thing. 🙏🏻 #NewYork #omakase #fumakase
