📍Morena Martin Place How come no one told me this place serves such amazing Latin American cuisine!?!? (The chef, Alejandro, has won numerous culinary awards in Australia and Europe) Specializing in Latin fusion fine dining, the experience is 99.99% top-notch (The portions are surprisingly generous, no fluff at all!) Both à la carte and set menus are delicious! But for the value, I’m all for the $120pp set which is a whole ten courses, and the ambiance alone is worth it! Top pick of the night: 🥇 The Peruvian grilled beef tongue, what a soulful bite (Make sure to order this as a single dish! The texture is tender and surprising, paired with traditional Peruvian Carretillera chili sauce, it’s a substantial serving!) The two appetizers were both full marks, the Mexican Aguachile shrimp with berry sauce was refreshing; the Peruvian sea bream and octopus ceviche was very Latin American, with leche de tigre and ají limo, it was tangy and spicy, leaving a lingering flavor. The pastries were also a cut above the rest, the Venezuelan smoked eggplant arepa with a hint of saltiness, dipped in bell pepper and enoki mushroom salsa was unique; the Chilean scallop pie is a must-try! Fish roe cream mixed with queso fresco! One bite and it’s a burst of happiness 😭😭 The Argentine M5 Wagyu brain and Colombian coconut titote rice are must-orders! For dessert, the Argentine cookie “knock knock” would be even better without the coconut milk on the sponge cake; by the seventh course, we were already full (and we have normal appetites!)
