Tainai Valley Garden + Old Furukawa Garden(1)
๐๐ธ Enjoying Tokyo's Winter Sunshine ๐ Mid-January in Tokyo, I was eagerly awaiting the first snowfall of the year. ๐๐ฟ In winter, Tainai Valley Garden is a bit desolate. ๐๐ธThe plants and trees are bare, the wisteria trellises are empty, and the beautiful landscape of the Lespedeza tunnel can only be looked forward to next September. Without flowers, maple leaves, or snow to enjoy, the garden feels a bit lonely and dull. Idle visitors chat in the Maple Pavilion, and a few couples take leisurely strolls in the warm afternoon sun. ๐ณ ๐๐ฟThe garden is uniquely situated on a terrace cliff. The Western-style lawn garden on the terrace hill harmoniously combines with the Japanese-style pond garden at the base of the cliff, creating a distinctive strolling garden. ๐๐ธ Gaining a basic understanding of the Musashino Terrace's cliff formation was the main takeaway from this tiring one-hour visit to Tainai Valley Garden. ๐ฟ ๐๐ฟThe Old Furukawa Garden also makes good use of the high and low terrain of the Musashino Terrace. An English-style mansion is built on the northern hill, a Western-style garden is laid out on the slope, and a Japanese-style garden surrounds the pond in the lowland. ๐ฐ #Tokyo #WinterGardens ๐๐ฟ
