Taiwanese Cuisine with New York's Coolest Restroom: Wenwen
🌊Some restaurants are all about the experience rather than just the food, and Wenwen is definitely one of them. 🌟 Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👍🏼 Garlic and Sichuan Pepper Celery Shreds The Sichuan pepper flavor is really strong, with a nice numbing and crispy texture. It's a refreshing appetizer and super yummy! 🍀 👌🏼 Satay Honey Salt and Pepper Chicken The satay flavor is not very pronounced, but the honey taste is quite strong and sweet. It's not the typical salt and pepper chicken you might expect, but it's still good. 🍗 ✋🏼 Oil Rice (with Uni) At first glance, it looks like a huge and appetizing portion. But oh my, it's incredibly salty! So salty that it's hard to finish. Only the first few bites are enjoyable. 🍔 Honestly, I came to Wenwen 50% for the food and 50% to check out their legendary restroom. When you open the door, it feels like stepping into a mini nightclub from the 1980s. ✨ Disco balls, psychedelic lights, and classic Taiwanese and Cantonese songs. You just have to take a photo to prove you've been there. 📸 Apart from the food, everything else is amazing. The decor, design, and marketing are all very well thought out. 🍃 Their Instagram captions are hilarious and they know their target audience well. It's a great place for a date or for a group of friends to hang out and chat over drinks. 🍻 Before I went, a friend asked: "Who is Lily Flemming?" I was so confused until I opened the menu and burst into laughter. The translations are hilarious. 🍃 One day, when it's not so hard to get a reservation and I have the time, I'll try their "Distinctly Grainy Fried Rice" and see how it compares to Din Tai Fung's Pork Rib Fried Rice. 🍔 #NewYorkExplore #WeekendAdventures #NYC 🎢
