📍 86775 Mill Hill Rd, Scio OH 43988 Over Labor Day Weekend, we drove just 1.5 hours from Pittsburgh to Tappan Lake — and guess what? I’m probably the first to share a full guide to this hidden gem! 👀 We enjoyed everything: serene lake views, BBQ grilling, cozy cabins, me as the captain 😉, boating with the dogs 🐕, paddleboarding, lotus flower viewing, and even picking lotus seed pods — a truly fulfilling trip! 😌 🏡 Cabin Booking Tips: Cabins get fully booked quickly during holidays, so reserve early! A Cabin: fits 2 people, but may not have a private bathroom. Banff Cabin: we stayed here with 7 people and 5 dogs — though it says it fits 6-8, it’s best for 5 max if you want space (or 4 if no one wants the pull-out couch!). Note: cabins can be a bit creaky — bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper! Larger cabins come with big grills. Too lazy to cook? Here’s What You Need to Know: You’ll need to take a short boating test — don’t worry, it’s easy! Study basic water safety rules 🧭 The test has 10 questions. You can take it twice — the staff will highlight correct answers the first time. Just get 9 right on the second try! Ask for a map 🗺️, learn how to tie docking knots, understand speed zones, and how to lower the sunshade. We set off at 8 AM and spent the whole day on the water — so relaxing!
