Tauranga Chill-Out Guide |New Zealand Blue 🇳🇿
📍 Another day healed by Tauranga—this city just hits different! 😌 ⛰️ Those “hills” in Tauranga? You can actually hike them! There are two trails: 1. The 2km loop around the hill—flat, easy, and perfect for a casual stroll 🌿 2. The 1km stair trail straight to the top—short but steep! 💪 Once you reach the summit, you’ll get a bird’s-eye view of *all* Tauranga. I kept gasping the whole way up—how can the sky and sea be THIS blue?! 🤯 🏖️ Papamoa Beach’s Sand “Lays Eggs”! Head there 1 hour before low tide in the afternoon—you’ll find *endless* cockles (clams)! 🦪 Pro tip: Bring a basin—plastic buckets won’t hold all this “seafood fortune”! I even found two tiny, cute crabs (released them later, of course)—those little guys scurried away like they were “carrying their houses to escape” 💨 🦀 Nighttime Sand Crab Hunting Go to Beach Access after dark if you wanna catch sand crabs—they’re faster than your ex leaving an argument! 😂 I brought a net and bought chicken bones from the supermarket to lure them… but turns out I caught more with my hands! *Warning:* Don’t grab them barehanded—they pinched me over and over! Ouch! 🫣 🌌 Galaxy Gazing When I got tired of chasing crabs, I looked up—and there was the Milky Way, shining bright! ✨ In that moment, all my human worries felt like nothing compared to the vastness of the universe. Total “small but happy” vibe. #TaurangaSeafoodHunting #NewZealand #StudyAbroad #NewZealandDaily #Hiking #NewZealandDayTrips
