The affordable Omakase even has white truffle ice cream❗
I’ve already shared several installments in my affordable omakase series, and I’m getting more and more hooked! But living uptown, it’s really a hassle to get to areas like SoHo. Last week, while shopping in Midtown with my bestie, we spotted a newly opened spot—so we decided to go for it right then and there! ✨ There are two menu options: 12 courses for $88 and 15 courses for $108. The 15-course one comes with an extra appetizer and two more pieces of sushi. Since it was our first time, we wanted to try more, so we went for the $108 set. ✨ Their flavor profile leans innovative—they’ve got all the classic indulgent elements: foie gras, wagyu, and truffle ✅! The first appetizer, oysters, were super fresh and sweet. The third one was uni and foie gras on toast—delicious. The dessert was a nice surprise❗ It’s house-made ice cream. On the day I went, they had white truffle and matcha flavors. We each got one and shared a bite. The white truffle was so unique—the truffle flavor was rich and intense—I’ve really never had anything like it elsewhere. I also loved the matcha one—it’s not overly creamy, just rich and not too sweet. 🍣 For the sushi, the fish slices are quite large—some pieces almost wrap around the rice completely! My favorite was the seared barracuda—it had such a lovely smoky aroma. The scallop was good too. Heads up: the chef initially put a bit too much wasabi. If you don’t like wasabi, remember to ask the chef to go easy on it! The final toro hand roll had super crispy nori—nice touch. That’s it for today’s share—if you liked it, give it a like!
