My bestie Mihoko and I planned a music-themed road trip 🎵🚗 — I started from Boston, she flew from LA, and we met at our first stop: New Orleans. This magical city by the Gulf of Mexico is like a hurricane cocktail mixed with history, music, and culture 🍹🌪️. 🎷 Jazz is the city’s heartbeat — don’t miss a night at Mahogany Jazz Hall! 🎨 Art is a way of life here — pop into any art studio, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. 🍽️ Food is New Orleans’ love language — I’ve been vegetarian for 20 years… but here, I broke my streak with a basil-baked sea bass so fragrant, I nearly ate the bones 😳😂! A little wine helped ease my guilt 🍷. If you’re visiting, N7 is a must! 😆 Our funniest moment? After leaving a jazz bar at 2 AM, we followed “Live Music” signs into a place that turned out to be a strip club 💃! We leaned into the curiosity, and the next night, we dressed up and visited another one — embracing the confidence and artistry of the performers. An unforgettable life experience, for sure! On our last day, we stumbled upon a voodoo ritual in the hotel lounge 🔮. While others stepped back, I danced to the drums — and realized: so many boundaries we set are just dotted lines we drew ourselves. Growth never happens inside a comfort zone.
