The best Italian food I’ve had since coming to America 🌟
🍃🌺I had to use Google Map to find this highly-rated place on the spot, as several popular Italian restaurants were fully booked or didn’t allow walk-ins. The pre-meal bread included focaccia and another type. I’m not good at tasting wine, so I won’t comment on that. Appetizers: Salmon tartare 8/10, delicious and a bit like Japanese cuisine. 🍃🌺 Octopus 7/10, normal level of tastiness. The sweet potato was bigger than the octopus. Caesar salad was just average. Main courses: NY strip with black pepper sauce 9/10, so yummy! The medium doneness was perfect, with a wood-fired aroma. Their special black pepper sauce was a great match. 🍃🌺 Black truffle risotto 9/10, also delicious. The black truffle was abundant, with a strong, delightful aroma. Lobster pasta 7/10, normal level of tastiness. Rigatoni 8/10, served with burrata, a bit like the Chinese dish of stewed noodles. The side dishes of mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus were also good. We didn’t order dessert because we had a birthday cake. I’ll try it next time and review it then. It seems like not many Chinese people go here. We were the only Chinese table in the whole place, and there are hardly any posts about it . 🍃🌺 The average cost per person is around $80 without drinks. The wine is generally expensive. If you need them to cut a birthday cake, there’s a $7 service fee per person. They cut very small pieces and will also record a video for you. 📍Osteria La Baia | New York #Italian Cuisine #Hidden Gem Restaurant
