The Best Steakhouse in STL "Village"!
After moving back to the "village" from Seattle, I immediately headed to this steakhouse—and it still didn’t disappoint! Compared to other high-end spots, its value for money is unbeatable. I’ve been here three times now, and not once have I had a bad dish—so many items are worth trying! 🥩 Must-Try Mains: Meat Lovers, Rejoice! Bone-in Ribeye & Potter House Steak: Both are top-tier in quality! The meat is cooked to perfection, with a juicy, tender interior and a nicely seared exterior that locks in all the beefy flavor. The portions are huge—perfect for anyone who loves hearty, satisfying meat. You’ll definitely leave full (and maybe with leftovers!). Sides That Steal the Show: Don’t sleep on the sides! The creamy kale and brussel sprouts are both delicious—what makes them extra special? The restaurant grows all its own vegetables! There’s even a greenhouse in the back where they cultivate the produce 😜. Fresh, flavorful, and a great balance to the rich steak. Lobster Mac & Cheese: This is listed as a side, but it’s easily filling enough to be a main dish! It’s packed with generous chunks of lobster—no skimping here—and the macaroni is coated in a rich, cheesy sauce that’s creamy but not greasy. It’s indulgent, cheesy, and totally worth ordering. 🍤 Standout Starters Chilled Cajun Shrimp: Highly recommended! The shrimp are massive—each one is plump and juicy—and the Cajun seasoning is spot-on: spicy, savory, and full of depth. It’s the perfect appetizer to wake up your taste buds before the main course. Crab Cake: Solid, but not the standout. It’s made with real crab meat (no filler!), but compared to the other dishes, it’s more "good" than "wow." Bone Marrow: A total find! This is the only restaurant in St. Louis where I’ve found bone marrow—and it’s done right. The marrow is rich, buttery, and perfect for scooping onto bread (or just eating straight from the bone, if you’re like me 😂). It’s a must-try for offal lovers. 🍰 Desserts: The Real Surprise! Save room for dessert—you won’t regret it! Carrot Cake: Hands down the best carrot cake I’ve had in the US. It’s enormous, with loads of shredded carrots and coconut flakes in every bite. The cream cheese frosting on top is light, tangy, and perfectly balances the sweetness of the cake. It’s so good, I’d go back just for this! Bourbon Bread Pudding: Also fantastic, but be warned—it’s just as big as the carrot cake. It’s moist, packed with bourbon flavor (but not overpowering), and served warm. Sadly, we were too full after the steak and lobster mac to finish it—but it’s definitely worth ordering if you have a big sweet tooth. 💫 Ambiance & Service The restaurant’s atmosphere and service are top-notch for the "village." The space is cozy and upscale (without being stuffy), and the staff are attentive—they’ll help you pick the right steak doneness or wine pairing, and check in to make sure your meal is perfect. 📍 Restaurant Name: Hamilton's Steak House and Bourbon Bar #StLouisFood #SteakhouseLove #WUSTLFood #FoodieFind #BestSteakInSTL
