The Cook Islands🏝️, a Destination Only 1% of People Have Visited
🏝️Rarotonga Edition For the Easter break, I’m off from Sydney to become a little islander! The Cook Islands are stunning, with crystal-clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling and boating. It’s so peaceful with very few people, and the island’s phone numbers are just 5 digits long. The locals are incredibly friendly and genuine; we left our bags and drone on the beach while boating with friends, and a passing islander with their dog even kept an eye on them for us. And when we missed the bus, a kind passerby gave us a lift to our destination 🥹 Food Alert: Avoid the beef and coffee❌ The chicken and fish on the island are fantastic, all locally raised and caught, but the beef is tough! The juice and coconuts are super fresh too. Little Polynesian The ultimate brunch value for money! My favorite spot in Rarotonga with an incredible view. It’s cheaper than the others but with better service. The sea breeze here is the best, and you can even go for a swim right after eating 🏊♀️ It’s super chill. 🌟 Must-tries: 🐟 Island Style Sashimi - Super fresh and delicious tuna slices! 🦐 Polynesian Prawn & Fish Salad - Crispy fried shrimp and fish with a unique and tasty spice blend Other options: 🥪 Club Sandwich - The fries are great, the sandwich is decent 🌯 Island Wrap - Choose from pork/chicken, crispy and generous portions 🐟 Ika Mata - A local specialty, quite acidic, not my cup of tea T T The Lazy Trout Cafe A cafe near the airport, pretty good overall! The Ariki Breakfast and Breakfast Waffle are both delicious, with yummy bacon. Recommend their signature Niu 🥥, it even comes with a pretty little flower for the 'gram 🌸 Moana Sands The food here is nothing special, not recommended, but the drinks 🥤 are decent. If you love the beach view, just order a drink and watch the sunset 🌅. The staff here are incredibly kind; when I needed to buy a toothbrush from the store, it was already dark outside, and one of them drove his motorcycle to get it for me 🥲 #IslandVacation #CookIslands #SydneyGetaways
