The East Village Is the Place to Visit Bookstores(1) 🌟

After four years, I'm back in New York and discovered that my favorite bookstore has moved! Now, the interesting bookstores are mostly located in and around the East Village. 🎢🍃 The already expensive New York subway has increased its fares, which is really bad news for my already tight travel budget! I marked them all on the map and roughly planned a route to explore while eating and shopping along the way. 1️⃣ Mast Books 72 Avenue A One of my happy haunts. Their book selection is really high-quality, and it feels like every book is worth flipping through. 🎢🍃 The store has a great collection of books by American photographers and artists, such as Pippa Garner's new book, as well as classics by renowned American photography masters. They often host irregular new book signings, especially for photography books. (We've had two of our photography books signed here before!) 📚✨ 2️⃣ Printed Matter 38 St Marks Pl This is a combined exhibition and bookstore space by Printed Matter. The selection is small but carefully curated. 🎢🍃 Their book choices are quite different from those in domestic bookstores; they don't have many books from the big publishers we're familiar with. For those who are tired of the usual book selections, there are many new discoveries to be made here! 🎢🍃 You can find plenty of queer zines or interesting books by artists you've never seen before. #NewYork 🗽🌟
