The First Chinese Michelin-Starred Restaurant in North America

Wing Lei in Las Vegas is the first Chinese restaurant in North America to receive a Michelin star. I visited recently — overall the flavors and service were good, though not exactly “mind-blowing.” No major disappointments, but the prices are on the higher side and the value felt just average.😁👌 This time we ordered à la carte, partly because the tasting menu seemed to rely heavily on luxurious ingredients layered onto traditional dishes, and partly because I’m fairly familiar with Cantonese cuisine and felt confident choosing. We ordered: Braised Abalone with Free-Range Chicken👌❤️ Portuguese-Style Baked Seafood Rice Braised Tofu in Brown Sauce😍🙌 Minced Pork Patty with Sea Cucumber (Steamed) Honestly, every dish tasted fine — around the level of a standard Cantonese restaurant back in China. But the prices were noticeably high and portions were modest. That said, the service was excellent — complimentary petits fours before and after the meal, and they even gave us cake to take home when leaving. The overall dining experience definitely added points.😊😘 In summary: If you want decent Cantonese food in Vegas with Michelin-level service, it’s worth a try. But if you’re looking for value for money — maybe not the best pick. #FoodDiary #MichelinOneStar #Michelin #Foodie #PrettyFood #ChineseFood #LasVegas #Cuisine
