The golden mask is flying up!

A pork cutlet so crispy it crumbles with every bite, paired with a big sip of icy Japanese beer 🍻—pure bliss! I have to say, this Japanese tonkatsu spot is my absolute favorite in New York. This tonkatsu specialty restaurant is so meticulous—they even categorize their pork cutlets into three grades! 🌟 Loin: The classic mix of lean meat and fat 🌟 Tender-Loin: Specially prepared, lean only 🌟 Berkshire: Black pork, richer in fat After picking your cutlet grade, there are tons of flavors to choose from too~ 🌟 Plain tonkatsu 🌟 Tonkatsu with grated daikon (Orishi) 🌟 Miso tonkatsu 🌟 Cheese tonkatsu 🌟 Curry tonkatsu I ordered the 【Loin Cheese Tonkatsu】—the pork had the perfect fat-to-lean ratio, not a bit greasy! The cheese inside oozed and stretched with every bite 🧀. The crispy crust crumbled as I bit into it, and when paired with the sesame I ground myself plus tonkatsu sauce? Chef’s kiss—highly recommend! My friend got the 【Berkshire Cheese Tonkatsu】—since Berkshire pork is fattier than regular pork, the cheese made it a bit rich for my taste. But the 【Berkshire Plain Tonkatsu】 is still fantastic! Also, their 【fried shrimp】 has an ultra-thin batter—crispy enough to crumble! And the shrimp meat is plump and firm, no filler here! Who else gets how satisfying that is? 🥹 Name 💁‍♀️ Katsu-Hama Address ⛳️ 11 E 47th St, New York, NY 10017 【Overall Review】 Dining Experience: 🍚🍚🍚🍚 We went around 8 PM on a Sunday and didn’t have to wait, though the restaurant was still 80% full. Recommendation Rating: 🍚🍚🍚🍚🍚 A great Japanese tonkatsu spot—even the rice is fluffy, Japanese rice! Totally in love! 😍 💸 Foodie Wallet Hit ➖ $35/person #NewYork #NYC #NYCFood #NYCFoodGuide #NYCFoodReview #TonkatsuNYC #KatsuHama #NYCJapaneseFood
