The joy of winter time at UCSB comes from a warm bowl

With classes ending at 6:30 PM during winter time, it’s already completely dark outside—zero motivation to cook. 😴 After debating for a while with my girlfriend about what to eat, we finally decided to try this ShangHai restaurant. It seriously satisfies my craving for real Chinese noodles here in California. Finally, no more ramen or pho! 🙌 🍜 Braised Intestine Noodles: Such a classic bowl of noodles! Loaded with Shanghai bok choy—I love it when noodles come with good veggies. The noodles are perfectly chewy, and the braised intestines are plentiful, fragrant, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. 🥬 Dry-Fried String Beans: So tasty! This veggie dish came out first and was seriously appetizing—we almost finished it before the rest of the food arrived! 😋 🐂 Mao Xue Wang (Spicy Blood & Organ Pot): Every place makes it a bit differently, but this one is packed with ingredients and full of flavor! We asked the owner to make it a little less spicy, and we still devoured every last bit. 🌶️✨ The owner is from Sichuan—super friendly and full of energy! Her accent is so contagious I almost started talking the same way 😂 All in all, this place really hits the spot for authentic Chinese noodles at UCSB. Next time, I’m trying their Braised Beef Noodles! 📍ShangHai Restaurant #StudyAbroadLife #DailyCampusEats #WinterFoodVibes #LoveIsSharingMeals #ComfortInABowl
